Foley Sound

Wikipedia's definition of Foley is pretty much spot on "Foley sound effects are sounds that synchronize on screen..."

Foley sound is done to help the dialouge of the video, sounds from everything, from glasses being put down to wiping your hands down your trousers. All of these miniscule sounds are captured and put on in post production editing but synchronized to a t.

It's not a very much known aspect of film making but it's one of the more important ones, with out it a film wouldn't have such a realistic impact.
